When it comes to singing, English pop songs are her favorite, and her favorite artists include Taylor Swift, Salina Gomez, and Rihanna. When she dances, she likes to boogie down to both Bollywood and Hollywood songs. Most of all, she loves to have fun with her friends, sharing jokes, and playing basketball (she recently played in an intermural tournament). Math and English are her favorite academic subjects. In math, she is currently learning about statistics. In English, she is practicing writing essays and letters. Recently, she wrote about the importance of newspapers and the English language. She has also written letters to her sister in Italy, and her younger brother in Rasuwa. When she grows up, she wants to support those in need and plans to do ample sewa work in the humanitarian sector. In her recent first term exams, she received an 85.5% and came in 2nd of her class of 35.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Sunita was found discarded in the road by patrolling police in Kathmandu when she was about 5 years old, and was brought to the orphanage. Her father died when she was very young, and her mother could not care for her. She has no known relatives. In October 2010, she spent her first Dashain holiday at the new group home with her HCC “family” instead of the orphanage….she loved it!
WHAT MAKES ME SPECIAL? Sunita is a happy girl who loves to dance and play with other children, but especially loves to sing. Her favorite sport is soccer, which the Nepalese call football.
