2019 Secondary Education Examination Graduates!

At the end of grade 10 students in Nepal are required to take the Secondary Education Exam (SEE). This milestone is a crucial step in their advancement to higher education. Nine students in the Signature Program and three students in the RES Program were eligible and all twelve passed!! In addition to this achievement opening educational doors, the Signature Program students also move in Khushi Ghar full time. We asked some of the newest residents how they feel about this accomplishment:

Manika:
Thinking about how I have passed SEE makes me proud of myself. Now I am a permanent member of the HCC house. I have the chance to learn new things and explore the outer world, which makes me really happy. I have learned to do house chores and I feel like I am finally home.

Rina:
I took the SEE examination this year. I no longer have to go to secondary school now, so I feel myself growing up and maturing. I feel responsible, making my own decisions. When the results were out, I was sad at first because it was not as I had expected. But I am not sad anymore because I know I can do better in the future.

Kashi:
After I passed my SEE examination, I was happy and sad at the same time. I was happy to step into another stage of my life. I was sad because I knew I was going to miss my school a lot. After some months, the results were out. I was very curious to know the result. I was happy with my results and I know that I can do even better in the future.

Kabita:
I feel very proud to be a permanent member of HCC. We have a lot more responsibility than before. I came to know about HCC more after I came to this house as a permanent member. I am learning new things from my elders. At the same time, I am a bit sad because I miss my school days, teachers, and my dearest friends.

Angela:
After I passed my SEE examination I felt mixed emotions. I was sad and happy at the same time. To leave my beloved school and my friends was the saddest part whereas the door to start a new life was the happiest. I have learned many new things after passing my SEEs. Now I know how to cook and live in a family.

Anukaran:
I gave my SEE examination this year. I was sad and happy at the same time. I was sad because I was going to be apart from my friends, and I was happy because I was going to enter a new phase of life. Now I feel responsible and I find myself growing up. When the results were out, I was sad because I had expected a bit more than what I actually secured. But now I am okay because I hope I can do better in the future.

Arun:
I completed my SEE Examination this year. I feel really happy because I can make my own decisions now. I compare myself with a bird because I no longer have to be under the school rules anymore. When the results were published, I was not satisfied because it was not as I had expected. But now I don’t feel as bad about the results because I have full confidence in myself to do better in the future.
